series with its patent pending plasma emission detector.
The most versatile gas chromatograph on the market, the
K4000ng redefines the gas measurement by integrating a
complete solution in a compact rackmount 4U. Configured to
your needs to measure a large number of impurities in different
backgrounds, the K4000ng uses not only plasma emission
detectors, but also many other kinds such as thermal conductivity
(T.C.D.), flame ionization (F.I.D.), and the new reduction
gas detector (R.G.D.). By implementing backflush, heart cut,
multiple sample loops, multiple separation columns and
multiple detectors, the K4000ng is the complete solution you
are looking for. With its capability to measure down to the
ppb level, the K4000ng becomes the only one analyzer that
your industry needs.
To extend its flexibility, a slave chassis can be added to the
K4000ng mainframe. Everything remains under control of the
mainframe to deliver a unified configuration that can replace

Air separation, semi-conductors, steel industries, electronics,
specialty gas and laboratories are all fields of application
in which the K4000ng can become a strong tool. Typical measurements
are impurities found in H2, O2, N2, Ar, CH4, CO, CO2,
Ne, Xe, Kr, He and light hydrocarbons. Other applications are
possible under demand.
The system is designed to operate as a stand-alone process
gas analyzer in stand-alone mode. No other data handling
equipment or software is required to quantify peak data;
the concentration for each impurity is displayed directly
on the K4000ng's screen. To communicate results to external
devices, use the K4000ng's 4 to 20 mA outputs or the Contrôle
Analytique's report software connected to the Internet/
Ethernet port.
With its new user interface, the K4000ng is now fully controllable
over the Internet or a local network. Monitor and run

The K4000ng is a basic mainframe that Contrôle Analytique
customizes for your application. The analytical section can be
configured to perform parallel analysis. Contrôle Analytique
builds the K4000ng with signal conditioning circuits, columns,
detectors, valves and ovens depending on the targeted purpose.
Going from the % to the ppb level, implementing single or
multiple backgrounds or meeting medical specifications, the
K4000ng is optimized for your analytical application. With an
improved software based on Windows XP Embedded, the
K4000ng becomes more and more flexible and user-friendly.

- Gas purifier: the GP-200 series gas purifier is used to generate high quality carrier gases and zero calibration gas.

- Sample stream selection system: the K4000ng can be fed by a Manual Sampling System (MSS) or by
a High Purity Sampling System (HPS2). They both allow a remote or a local sample stream selection.
Exempt of sample stream cross contamination, air diffusion or dead volume, these sample stream selection
systems (U.S. Patent No 6.637.277) are simply the best on the market.
- Calibration devices: use the GCS-100 Gas Calibration System to start-up your system with the right calibration.
This intelligent capillary based orifice gas blending device lets you manage the dilution of a span gas with
a zero gas in order to reach a low level of impurity.
- Slave chassis: for complex configuration, auxiliary chassis can be added to extend the application that requires
more valves, columns, detectors or anything else. The K4000ng communicates with its slave chassis by serial port.
- Auxiliary ovens: different kinds of custom ovens can be added to the system in separate auxiliary chassis to provide
optimum temperature changes needed in certain applications (ex: temperature ramping).
- Proprietary column for the separation of Ar and O2: these columns are used for the measurement of Ar and O2.
The plasma detector for an Argon impurity has a sensitivity of 100 ppt.
- H2 permeation device: used to eliminate hydrogen from a sample when measuring impurities in pure hydrogen.
- Various traps: different kinds of traps can be mounted on the rear panel to clean a background gas in order to obtain
the zero baseline needed for a proper analysis of resolved impurity traces. The trap used is dependant upon the application.
Generally speaking, a trap is used in a configuration where the background part is vented. They are available for the H2 and
for the O2. Some of these traps can be regenerated directly in place.

- Report monitoring software: Contrôle Analytique can provide you with a software to monitor directly on a PC the chromatograms
and the process results computed by the K4000ng. This software uses an Internet/Ethernet link and can also be used to generate
statistics and historical values.
- Quick check configuration: when the background gas and the carrier gas are the same, a quick check allows a total gas purity verification
as a GO-NO-GO. One sample injection of all impurities is performed with the G.C. column bypassed. Based on the degree of change on the
baseline, the total gas impurity can be evaluated. Taking less than 30 seconds, it is a useful option for troubleshooting a distribution line
integrity in a semiconductor industry, for example. In some cases, a different gas than the carrier one can be used.
